Creams

Creams are used all over to nourish the body. Face creams moisturise, replenish and clarify the skin. Hand creams nourish and soften. Foot creams revitalise and strengthen the skin. Deodorant creams cleanse, freshen and condition the underarm skin. Healing creams benefit particular skin conditions

Rose Everyday Face Cream

Creams bases are made from aqua and plant oils, often sweet almond, coconut and jojoba. To these soft, spreading blends are added more therapeutic plant oils and gels, marigold and aloe vera for example, and herbal tinctures, such as witch hazel, and pure, essential oils, such as lavender and rose.

Helped by the lubricity of the plant oils, the completed cream-blends do their good work by absorption. As the creams are spread over the body the natural ingredients begin their action on the surface of the skin, the epidermis. The plant oils, herbal tinctures and essential oils slough off dry skin flakes, sooth rashes with their anti-inflamatory properties, and help heal tiny, open abrasions by disinfecting the skin and encouraging the growth of new skin cells.

As the cream is more thoroughly massaged into the skin, the natural ingredients penetrate deeper into the dermis, the next layer of skin. The dermis is where the follicles, sweat and oil glands, mast cells, lymph glands, blood vessels, collagen and elastin reside.

Sweet Almond Face Cleanser

It is due to the action of lipids, that the natural ingredients are absorbed by the body, penetrating the dermis and passing through the blood barrier, where they are carried away to pervade every cell of the body.

Lipids are fat-soluble, naturally-occurring molecules present in the tissues of the dermis, in all cell membranes, where they have the ability to allow easy passage of the natural constituents into the blood circulation.

It is a beautiful fact that lipids are also abundant in plants, both in pure, essential oils and in the fatty oils that "carry" the essential oils in a safe dilution. Our similarity with plants gives us an understanding of the ease and naturalness of the benefits plants bestow on the human physiology. We slot into each other with the ease of a key in a lock.

Creams from Beautiful Balms are full of natural ingredients that are readily absorbed to benefit the skin.

Comfrey and Benzoin Soothing Hand Balm

Face Creams

Face creams nurture from within to give a healthy, glowing appearance to the facial skin. Beautiful Balms has suggestions for lovely face creams that really do benefit the skin.

Rose and Apricot Face Moisturiser

Face creams with light cream bases are perfect for use as day creams or as easily-absorbed night creams. Face creams with a thicker consistency are suitable as rich, nighttime moisturisers. If the rich face creams are used regularly they restore and replenish dry or mature skins. The best face creams are suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skins.

Good face creams contain ingredients such as Aloe Vera and Marigold (Calendula) that have several healing properties to moisturise, sooth and cleanse the skin. Apricot Kernel oil is especially nourishing with Vitamins A and E, and penetrating fatty acids (lipids).

Pure, essential oils in face creams need to be rejuvenating like Rose or balancing, such as Geranium, which redresses skin extremes - dryness, oiliness or sensitivities.

The most beautiful face creams have pleasing aromas. Rose is an especially lovely fragrance for the facial skin, being sensuous and uplifting. When blended with other essential oils such as Rosewood or Geranium the aroma develops a piquancy.

Hand Creams

Hand creams nourish hard-working hands to restore the skin to soft, supple condition. Beautiful Balms has fragrant, replenishing hand creams.

Frankincense Everyday Hand Cream

Hand creams are light or rich mixes to be used depending on the condition of the hands and the choice of beauty routine. Hand creams with light base creams are easily absorbed and can be used for frequent daily use. If the hands need only moderate care, light hand creams are also used for overnight. Extra rich, moisturising hand creams work especially well overnight, for very dry, cracked or chapped hands.

Natural ingredients for hand creams are plant oils, herbal tinctures and pure, essential oils which sooth, nourish, condition and heal dry, exposed skin. Aloe Vera gel, Calendula and Comfrey herbal oils are all conditioning plants. Aloe Vera, with its seventy five nutrients, is highly nurturing. Calendula is calming, sooths rashes and inflamed skin and acts as a humectant, sealing in moisture. Comfrey contains allantoin, a natural chemical to heal damaged skin by encouraging cell growth.

Pure, essential oils that work well in hand cream formulas are the perennial favourites, Lavender and Rose, and incemse oils Frankincense and Benzoin. Lavender is healing, calming, balancing and benefits all skin types. Rose is gently anti-bacterial as well as regenerative. Frankincense helps heal cracked, weeping skin. Benzoin calms redness, itchiness and irritation.

As we use our hands to express ourselves with gestures and embraces we can fill the air with lovely aromas. Hand creams with the most beguiling scents are warm, spicy and lingering. Lavender's top notes blend with all other perfumes, Rose is a scent from heaven, and Benzoin and Frankincense essential oils lend sweetness and spice.

Foot Creams

Foot creams are rich, moisturising creams that are applied regularly to revive tired, aching feet. Foot creams aim to nourish the skin so feet are smooth, supple and strong. Foot creams cleanse the skin and leave feet smelling fresh and fragrant

Beautiful Balms has a luxurious, conditioning foot cream.

Lavender and Peppermint Foot Balm

Foot Creams are made with thick heavy cream bases, strengthened with rich blends of stimulating, nourishing, antiseptic natural ingredients. The thick skin on the soles of our feet contains twenty layers. Foot creams are massaged in thoroughly, and at some length, in order for the fatty acids (lipids), contained in the plant oils to penetrate to the dermis, and combine with our own lipids for the best beneficial effect.

.

Good, natural ingredients for foot creams are the herbal tinctures of Marigold (Calendula) and Thuja. Marigold keeps feet cleansed and antiseptic, soothes inflamed skin and is cell restoring for damaged, sensitive skin. Thuja is anti-fungal and stimulating, debriding warts and callouses to result in smooth, strong skin.

Essential oils for foot creams are chosen to be antiseptic, calming and reviving. Lavender is nourishing and soothing, cooling and anti-bacterial. Chamomile is anti-inflamatory and calms sensitive skin.C hamomile also nourishes and strengthens dry skin. Peppermint essential oil calms and cleanses the skin. Due to the menthol it contains, Peppermint has an interesting quality. As the Peppermint oil is first rubbed in, the feet feel warmed, and then shortly afterwards feet experience a cooling. The whole sensation is stimulating and revitalising.

Foot creams smell clean and minty. Lavender, Chamomile and Peppermint all hold fragrant, sharp notes that are fresh and reviving.

Deodorant Creams

Deodorant creams are fragrant, cleansing creams that dry excess perspiration. Natural skincare deodorant creams are aluminium free and do not harm the skin.

Beautiful Balms deodorant creams act positively to clarify, cleanse and strengthen the underarm skin.

Grapefruit Deodorant Balm

Deodorant Creams have light textured cream bases, easily absorbed by the delicate underarm skin. Natural deodorant creams are gentle and conditioning, and can be used as often as needed. Deodorant creams work for all skin types, including troubled or sensitive, to leave the skin fresh and fragrant. If you are avoiding the essential oils of Rosemary and Sage, natural deodorant creams offer effective alternatives that contain essential oils of Lemon and Chamomile.

Natural ingredients for deodorant creams are cleansing, soothing, and nourishing. Vegetable glycerine contains softening and lubricating qualities to assist the epidermis in retaining moisture. Both Witch Hazel and Marigold (Calendula) are deodorising and toning. Witch Hazel is also astringent. Marigold soothes and cleanses.

Pure, essential oils for Deodorant Creams are deodorising, antiseptic and regenerative. Sage reduces perspiration and is antiseptic. Rosemary and Lavender are anti-bacterial and refreshing for the skin. Chamomile essential oil deodorises, is anti-bacterial and soothes sensitive skin. Citrus fruit essential oils of Grapefruit and Lemon are deodorising and germicidal. Palmarosa adds nourishing and regenerative properties to deodorant creams.

Deodorant Creams smell fresh, sweet and fragrant, never overpowering. Sage, Rosemary and Chamomile have a dry, herbal aroma that is lifted by sweet Lavender and tangy Lemon and Grapefruit
